Kenwood House Measured Building Survey
Part of the Inveigh Bequest, Kenwood, the Dairy buildings are situated on the brow of a hill with panoramic views across the West Meadow at Kenwood.
It is a cluster of three ornamental dairy buildings made up of a cottage, stunning original Creamery and an octagonal miniature tearoom. Underneath all of these buildings is a brick ice house, a rare survival in the London area of an ice storage pit.

Objective
This cluster of small buildings was in need of conservation and repair so that it could be reopened to the public. Comprehensive land survey, floor plans, elevations and sections were required by English Heritage to allow their architects to plan the restoration and re-use of these buildings. Services Provided A team of surveyors carried out a Measured building survey using a combination of Riegl and Faro Laser Scanners and hand measurements to complete the building surveys internally and externally on site. The topographic survey was completed using one of our Trimble Robotic Total Stations. |
Deliverables
Comprehensive land survey, floor plans, elevations and sections were produced in AutoCAD to the standard specifications required by English Heritage. Key Successes
APR’s extensive experience ensured that the drawings were provided to the English Heritage on time and at the standards required. Successful conservation and repair has been undertaken and the Dairy was open for the public in August 2013.
